BITE DAY

Bass fishing, on your own water

Know when your lake will bite, and why.

Bite Day rates every hour on your lake or pond from 0 to 100, shows every reason behind the rating, and tells you what to throw. Today's rating, the reasons and the top 3 baits stay free forever.

iPhone. No account. No ads, ever.

What it does

A plan for your next trip, with the reasons.

Most anglers get a few days on the water a month. Bite Day helps you pick the right one and know what to throw when you get there.

1

Any lake, any pond

FREE: ONE WATER

Search a lake, pond or river by name, or drop a pin on the one with no name. Tell it how you fish (bank, kayak or boat), and bait depth and wind advice change to match.

Premium: unlimited lakes.

2

Why this rating

ALWAYS FREE

Tap any hour to see every factor and how many points it added or took away.

Pressure falling 0.06 inHg in 3h ahead of a front+14
Major solunar period (moon overhead)+6
Bright midday sun pushes bass tight to cover−5

If a day's rating moves 8 points or more, it tells you what changed, like "front now arrives about 5 hours later".

3

What to throw

TOP 3 FREE

Baits ranked for today's season phase, water temperature, sky, wind and your water clarity, with color, depth and retrieve.

1
Spinnerbaitwhite / chartreuse · 2–5 ft, windblown points, slow-roll

Premium: the full list and why each bait fits.

4

Plan the day, log the day

LOG FREE

Mark a day as planned. If the rating later moves by 8 or more, you get a note with the reason. Log a catch in three taps; the weather is saved with it. A trip with no fish is one tap, because blanks count too.

Free: today’s rating with every reason and an unlimited catch log. Premium: the 10-day outlook, plan lock, alerts, and Your Pattern, which learns from your own trips.

Straight talk

A read on conditions, not a promise of fish.

Rules you can see

The rating comes from pressure trend, fronts, wind, clouds, rain, water temperature, season, solunar periods, moon, dawn and dusk. No black box: every point is listed.

Estimates are labeled

Few lakes have live temperature sensors, so water temperature is estimated and marked "estimated". Enter your own reading and the app uses it for three days.

Still being tuned

We're checking the rating against real catch logs during the beta. Florida and northern ice-off waters show a "less tested here" note until we have enough data there.

The free-forever promise

Free stays free. In writing.

Anglers have watched apps move free features behind a paywall. We put ours on the paywall screen itself, so it can't quietly change.

Free forever, for everyone

  • Today's Bite Rating for every hour, with every reason.
  • Both of today's bite windows.
  • The seasonal phase and the top 3 baits.
  • One lake or pond.
  • An unlimited catch log with CSV export.
  • The small Home Screen widget and iCloud backup.

Pricing

Free, or $39.99 a year.

Premium is for planning ahead: the next 10 days, every lake you fish, alerts for your best window, and a rating tuned on your own catches.

TestFlight beta

Help us tune the rating.

We're looking for 30 to 50 bass anglers in the US, from the bank, kayak or boat, to test on iPhone and tell us where the rating or the bait picks are wrong.

Log 10 trips during the beta and you get Premium free for life. Trips with no fish count.

US only, iPhone only. TestFlight is Apple's free app for testing apps before release.

We only use your email to send the beta invite and one launch note. No spam, no selling data.

Questions

FAQ

Is Bite Day free?

Yes. Today's Bite Rating, both bite windows, every reason, the top 3 baits, one lake and an unlimited catch log are free with no time limit. Premium is optional and adds planning ahead.

How is the Bite Rating worked out?

On your iPhone, from Apple Weather's hourly forecast for your water's exact spot: pressure level and trend, front timing, wind, clouds, rain, air temperature trend, estimated water temperature, the seasonal phase, solunar periods, moon phase, and dawn and dusk. Each factor adds or takes away points, and you can see every one.

Is it accurate?

It's a rules-based read on conditions, built from widely used bass fishing knowledge. No app can promise fish. We're comparing the rating with real catch logs during the beta and adjusting it, and we show the reasons so you can judge for yourself.

Does it work on my small pond?

Yes. Drop a pin on any water, named or not, and pick its type: pond, natural lake, reservoir or river. The rating uses that exact spot's weather.

Will my spots be shared?

No. There is no social feed and no account. Your lakes and catch log stay on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your own iCloud. Read the privacy policy.

Does it work offline at the ramp?

The forecast is saved for 24 hours, so you can check it with no signal.

What about crappie, walleye or saltwater?

Version 1 is built for black bass. Other species may come later. Saltwater and tides are not planned for now.

What is the season pass?

$19.99 for 4 months of Premium, paid once. It never renews. It's for anglers who fish hard from pre-spawn into summer and don't want to pay for the winter.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Bite Day is for iPhone for now.
